Respiratory Protection Signs
Respiratory protection signs are a visual reminder of the need to use breathing personal protective equipment (PPE) in the workplace. These are necessary to protect against a range of potential hazards including; airborne dust particles, including asbestos; gas or fumes; vapour; and oxygen deficient atmospheres.
The body protection products are outlined in the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992. Breathing protection equipment can include dust masks, odour masks, respirators, air-fed helmets or hoods, free standing HEPA filters and breathing apparatus.
The signs indicate the need to use the appropriate appliances or equipment, and their location.
