Pipe Marking Products - Further Information:
What exactly is pipe marking tape?
The purpose of the labelled pipe is indicated by pipe marking tape. It is required by law to label any pipes carrying hazardous materials with the substance name and the appropriate colour code. All pipeline identification tapes are made of 90 micron self-adhesive vinyl with a rubber-based adhesive and a clear polypropylene surface laminate. Our pipe tape has an operating temperature range of -10°C to +50°C.
How can you identify different pipes for marking?
One of the most crucial guidelines to follow when it comes to pipe markings is the colour scheme used on the markings themselves. This is so that even if people aren't close enough to see the labels' text, they can still quickly understand the most crucial information thanks to the colours utilised. The following are the guidelines for pipe marking colour standards used by various industries:
Label Source's pipe label stickers are colour-coded as follows:
Ochre (08C35): Gases, excluding air
Green (12D45): Water services
- Light Grey (10A03): Steam
- Violet (22C37): Acids and alkalis
Red (04E53): Fire services
Light Blue (20E51): Air services
Orange (06E51): Electricity services and vent ducts
Brown (06C39): Mineral oils
- Black: Other fluids
- White: Auxiliary information
There are additional colours that can be used for pipe markings, but as they are 'user defined,' no industry-wide standard is followed. However, despite having numerous locations, a corporation should adhere to a single standard.
